Richard has over 28 years’ experience with PPR and has developed the Sydney based business into one of the largest consultancy chains in the region, with offices across Australia and in New Zealand.  

Richard Lazar’s public relations skills have been recognised by the Public Relations Institute of Australia, which has made him a Fellow of the industry and presented him with several national “Golden Target Awards” and “State Awards for Excellence”, including the coveted “Program of the Year Award”.    

Richard's creative approach together with his experience in corporate culture change, issue and crisis management and in the introduction of planning and strategic PR tools, new systems to consultancy administration and career development at PPR, have established him as a leader of the profession. Richard is a co-author of the best-selling text book, "The Australian and New Zealand Public Relations Manual" (Tymson & Lazar), now in an updated 5th edition.

Peter Lazar
Chairman & Founder of PPR



Peter is a very experienced strategist, consultant, facilitator and presenter. He is a highly regarded communicator, chairman and negotiator. 

A Life Fellow and Past State President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, he was chair of its College of Fellows for 12 years.  Peter’s expertise in issue management and communication strategy at the highest level has made him a leader in the profession.  

He was awarded an AM in the 2007 Australia Day Honours List for services to communication, health education, aged care and for other community service. For his pro bono work in dental health education he was made a Fellow of the International College of Dentists - one of only two non-dentists to be so honoured. 

He is co-author of “The Australian and New Zealand Public Relations Manual” (Tymson & Lazar) which is widely used in the teaching of Communication students in University and TAFE courses in the region.

With 19 years in consultancy and corporate environments, as well as running her own PR business, Sally's wealth of experience has benefited a wide range of clients. This is enhanced by Sally's previous experience as a journalist. 

Her strategic planning skills have been applied to a diverse range of clients including government agencies, public health organisations, and corporates, as well as businesses in a cross-section of industries.  

Sally has been with Professional Public Relations for 10 years and was Managing Director of Professional Public Relations in New Zealand before relocating to Australia.  She continues to hold the position of Executive Chairman of PPR NZ.

Peter Harris

Peter is a highly experienced communications practitioner with more than 25 years experience in media, government and corporate affairs.


He provides strategic public affairs advice covering all facets of media and investor relations, issues and crisis management and government and community relations.

He is an award-winning newspaper journalist and served as a Media Adviser in the Court Coalition Government from 1995 to 1998, before joining PPR in March 1998.

He was promoted to Manager, Public Relations in 2001, appointed General Manager of PPR WA in 2002 and has been the Managing Director of PPR WA since 2005, with responsibility for more than 40 staff. During this time, he has overseen the expansion of the Perth office into the largest public relations consultancy in Western Australia with a dedicated offering for investor relations and digital communications.

When consulting, Peter has provided strategic counsel to a range of PPR clientele including LandCorp, Chevron Australia, PTTEP Australasia, Exxon Mobil and Emirates.
EDiana Forrester


Diana Forrester

Diana has delivered strategic counsel and program implementation to clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors for more than 20 years. She operated her own consultancy for a decade before joining PPR 11 years ago. 

Responsible for building the commonwealth government practice for the firm since 1999, Diana has worked in the agriculture, environment, family and community services, finance, fisheries, geoscience, health, ICT, small business and tax portfolios, and she has secured and managed program implementation for several international clients, primarily in the education sector. 

As the winner of national awards for Communication Excellence from both PRIA and AIM, Diana oversees the consulting processes and systems that deliver quality assurance for PPR clients. Diana is also responsible for the PPR Academy which provides learning programs in communication best practice across the company. 

Diana has a background in research, is a professional writer, facilitator and presenter as well as a qualified educator.  In 2003, Diana was awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal for services to the Australian community in Business Leadership.
FLee McLean


Lee McLean

Lee manages the Queensland PPR team whilst also having a very hands-on role in the strategic direction and implementation of a variety of programs. Lee’s campaigns often draw on her extensive experience in issues and crisis management including having managed the communication for Herron Pharmaceuticals during one of Australia’s largest extortion related recalls, and Sizzler restaurants following a attack on its salad bar.

Lee has more than 25 years experience conducting communication campaigns involving strategy development, media and government relations; research and speech writing; literature production (including electronic literature); and event management.

This experience has covered the resources, consumer, industrial and technology industries, as well as government where she was an IT&T policy and media adviser to the Queensland Government.

Lee is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute (Qld), a former Treasurer and Council member of the Institute, and is Chair of the Judging Committee of the Institute’s annual awards program in Queensland.

She has received over 20 industry awards for campaigns covering issues and crisis, consumer communication and internal communication.

Michael Pooley is a highly experienced communications professional with more than a decade of experience in London and Sydney. Specialising in corporate communications, strategic planning and crisis and issues management, Michael advises CEOs, boards and c-suite executives across a range of sectors including finance, transport, printing, executive leadership and forestry.  

Before joining PPR Sydney in 2007, Michael spent a number of years in London on the agency side, leading key accounts across a wide range of sectors. Before being appointed General Manager, Michael was Group Director of the PPR Sydney Corporate and Public Affairs team.

Jonathan Tudor

With more than 20 years in public relations consultancy, working in New Zealand and overseas, Jonathan brings a world of experience to his leadership role at PPR. He is a highly experienced communications specialist with a successful history in corporate and business-to-business communications and public affairs.

Jonathan has returned recently to New Zealand after four years in Dubai, where he worked for Asda’a Burson-Marsteller, the Middle East’s largest consultancy network. Here he first led a corporate practice and then became General Manager of a sister boutique agency. In these roles he led substantial local teams and programmes across the Middle East and North Africa.

His portfolio of clients included well-known names such as American Express, Starbucks, DHL and NZTE, and Middle East businesses such as retail giant M.H.Alshaya, the Majid Al Futtaim Group of leisure and shopping destinations, and Ski Dubai. He also led the program to launch flydudai (flydubai), the first low-cost airline based out of Dubai.

Prior to this he spent two years in London as a Director at Burson-Marsteller, where he established Accenture’s UK press office.

Before leaving New Zealand in 2004, Jonathan managed the UBS sponsorship to support the successful Alinghi America’s Cup bid in 2003 and BT’s sponsorship of the Global Challenge yacht race in 1997 and 2000. He also managed an IT communications practice during a two-year period of rapid growth prior to 2000, and headed prestigious corporate programs for BHP Steel, MSD and Boots Healthcare.

Jonathan has an MBA from Henley Management College and is a BA (Hons) graduate of University College London, UK.

From strategic client counsel to creative execution, Dena Vassallo brings more than a decade of multi-national experience and unique perspective to PPR.

Formerly, as vice president in Edelman’s Chicago USA office, Dena developed and executed campaigns for Unilever. During this time, numerous campaigns led by Dena were greatly influenced with digital strategies and were recipients of the highest marketing/PR awards in America.

Dena’s experience in public relations/marketing includes brand building campaigns, guerrilla/buzz marketing, branded entertainment, social/digital media, user-generated content, issues management, celebrity and influencer seeding; strategic media relations; product promotions and partnerships; and execution of a wide range of special events.

Dena also worked with Hunter Public Relations in New York, USA where she led campaigns for globally recognised companies such as Kraft, Starbucks and Gallo Wines. She began her career at Edelman New York USA, and worked on key accounts such as Absolut Vodka, Pepsi and Crisis Management for September 11, 2001.

Bridget is a highly experienced communications specialist with more than 20 years experience managing both national and international clients, including some of the world’s biggest brands. 

She has developed and driven innovative and groundbreaking campaigns, integrated marketing strategies and public relations programs for a wide range of corporate organisations, NGOs, consumer/lifestyle brands and sporting bodies. 

Bridget has extensive knowledge in crisis and issues management, corporate positioning, brand management, stakeholder relations, sports sponsorship, corporate social responsibility, social marketing , major events, media and government relations, speech writing and global best practice. 

She has also advised leading Australian CEOs, company directors and senior management on executive profiling and how to master media relationships. 

Bridget brings a unique perspective to PPR - from strategic planning to creative execution  - which is delivered with  great enthusiasm and energy to ensure our clients success.

Grant is a CPA qualified accountant with over 10 years experience in the Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations industries. 

In his role as Finance Director of PPR Grant has implemented financial processes and procedures that ensures PPR meets its corporate governance requirements as prescribed by the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. 
Nicole Moody


Nicole Moody
General Manager, Perth



Nicole has 20 years experience across the fields of journalism, government and public relations for the private and public sectors both in Western Australia and in London.
Since joining PPR in 2006, Nicole has managed several key accounts, including LandCorp, Murdoch University, HBF and Brightwater Group.

She has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic public relations and marketing campaigns, issues management, government relations, media relations and event management.

Nicole is highly skilled in crisis management, playing a leading role in the strategy development of community and media relations surrounding the PTTEP oil spill in the Timor Sea. 

She also has Ministerial and State Government agency experience, and a detailed knowledge of protocol and government operations. As a former newspaper and television journalist, Nicole posesses a strong working knowledge of the media.

Nicole is the winner of several State and national Public Relations Institute of Australia awards for her work on PPR client campaigns.
